The Institution of Green Engineers (IGEN) proudly announces the launch of IGEN ENERGATHON 2026, a historic global initiative advancing SDG 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy through international collaboration, innovation, and continental energy action.

Since its inception during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, IGEN ENERGATHON has evolved into a globally recognized sustainability and energy movement, achieving multiple international world record recognitions for its extraordinary impact and continuous global engagement.

IGEN ENERGATHON 2026 – Global Continental Energy Action Marathon

Building on the remarkable global success of IGEN ENERGATHON (2020–2025), which evolved from a 13-hour virtual conference into a 2025-minute (33 hours 45 minutes) world-record global energy marathon, the 2026 edition marks a strategic transformation toward continent-driven action and localized impact.

IGEN ENERGATHON 2026 proposes a first-of-its-kind Continental Energy Marathon, where each continent—Asia, Africa, Europe, North America, South America, Australia (Oceania), and Antarctica—will host a dedicated 3-hour thematic session, led by regional experts, policymakers, academia, and youth leaders. This model ensures deeper, context-specific discussions on Energy4Sustainability, addressing unique regional challenges, innovations, and policy pathways aligned with SDG 7 and interconnected SDGs.
