🌱 IGEN SDG Projects Summer Internship 2026
The IGEN SDG Projects Summer Internship 2026 is a 30-day immersive, action-driven learning experience designed to empower students to become SDG practitioners, innovators, and community change-makers. This internship provides students with a unique opportunity to move beyond classroom learning and actively implement sustainability solutions in real-world settings.
Through participation in IGEN’s flagship initiatives—#igenEnergy99Challenge, #igencycle4green, #igentalk4sdg, and #igenZero2Hero—students will gain hands-on experience in solving environmental and social challenges, aligned with the Pancha Bhoota framework (Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The internship is designed to help students translate knowledge into action. Participants will work closely with households, communities, and peer networks to create measurable impact, while developing key skills such as leadership, communication, problem-solving, and sustainability thinking. With structured mentorship, digital reporting tools, and guided activities, students will actively contribute to transforming unsustainable (“red”) environments into sustainable (“green”) ecosystems.

The internship encourages students to take ownership of their actions, lead initiatives, and become responsible contributors to global sustainability goals.
⚡ IGEN ENERGY99CHALLENGE
Through the #UNDESA-indexed #igenEnergy99Challenge Version 2.0 (#SDGAction48555), students will act as Energy Ambassadors, working directly with households to promote energy-saving practices using the #ENSAV9Mantras. Each student will aim to influence multiple homes through the 1 Participant → 99 Homes model, gaining practical exposure in energy conservation while contributing to reducing carbon emissions and supporting SDG 7, 12, and 13. 🚴♂️ IGEN CYCLE4GREEN
In the #igencycle4green initiative, students will participate in and lead cycling-based awareness activities, promoting sustainable mobility and climate action. Through initiatives like Sunday cycling, students will engage communities, advocate eco-friendly transport, and build environmental awareness. Their contributions will be recognised on 3 June 2026 in observance of World Bicycle Day. More details’ @ https://blog.theigen.org/join-igencycle4green/
🎤 IGEN TALK4SDG
Through #igentalk4sdg, students will become SDG storytellers and advocates. Each participant will select an SDG, take meaningful action, and creatively share their #MySDGStory through videos, photos, or written content. This will help students build communication skills, digital presence, and the ability to inspire others while contributing to global SDG awareness. ♻️ IGEN ZERO2HERO
In the #igenZero2Hero initiative, students will take the lead in waste reduction and sustainable living practices.
