⚙️ Engineers’ Day 2026 Celebration
Recognition of Green Outcome Contributors
The 59th Engineers’ Day 2026 is being celebrated with the theme “Engineering Excellence for a Sustainable and Technologically Sovereign India”, as set by The Institution of Engineers (India) (IEI).
In alignment with this theme, IGEN is taking a different approach to Engineers’ Day — rather than simply exchanging wishes, we are coming together to appreciate and recognize the people who have already contributed to creating a greener and more sustainable future through engineering, technology, research, innovation and community action.
Who can participate? IGEN invites students, academic professionals, industry professionals, researchers, innovators and the general public who have contributed to a Green Engineering or Sustainability outcome during the past five years. Contributions may include green engineering projects, sustainability publications, patents, green technology innovations, renewable energy initiatives, energy or water conservation, waste management, green campus initiatives, sustainable infrastructure, green community activities, environmental solutions and other SDG-aligned engineering or sustainability contributions.
Step 1 – Prepare Your Contribution: Prepare an article of up to 1,000 words describing your Green Engineering or Sustainability contribution. The article should clearly explain what you did, your role, when and where it was implemented, the outcome achieved, measurable impact wherever available, and the relevant SDG(s). Please include photographs or other supporting evidence demonstrating the contribution.
Step 2 – Join the IGEN LinkedIn Group: Join the IGEN United Nations International Day & Continents National Day Celebration 2026 LinkedIn Group https://www.linkedin.com/groups/16029010/ and wait for your membership to be accepted. The group will serve as a platform for bringing together and showcasing Green Engineering and Sustainability contributions from the wider IGEN community.
Step 3 – Publish Your Contribution: After your membership is accepted, publish your article on LinkedIn along with the relevant photographs, project evidence, report or supporting proof in PDF format, wherever applicable. The post must include the mandatory hashtags #igenInternationalDay #EngineersDay2026 so that all contributions can be identified and collectively promoted.
Step 4 – Share Your Published Post : After publishing your contribution, communicate the LinkedIn post with your community so that your work can receive additional promotion, visibility and reach through your network.
Step 5 – Recognition: Selected contributors will be considered for IGEN Green Engineering Contributors Recognition 2026 based on the significance and quality of the contribution, demonstrated outcome, measurable impact, innovation, sustainability and SDG relevance, community or societal benefit, supporting evidence, and the reach and engagement generated by the published contribution. The primary focus will be on recognizing genuine contributions and meaningful outcomes.
