Launching on the Birthday of Padmabhushan Dr. A. Sivathanu Pillai, IGEN Board of Governors

On the special occasion of Dr. A. Sivathanu Pillaiโ€™s birthday, The Institution of Green Engineers (IGEN) is honoured to launch the call for contributions to the Handbook of Panchabhutas for Planet & People, as part of the IGEN ENVIRONTHON 2025 โ€“ Marathon.

We are privileged to have Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri Dr. A. Sivathanu Pillai, Father of BrahMos and Founder, CEO, and Managing Director of BrahMos Aerospace, serve as the Honourable Chief Editor for this landmark publication.

We cordially invite researchers, industry professionals, academicians, and students to contribute collaborative book chapters to this unique volume, which focuses on Integrative & Transdisciplinary Research Approaches Towards COP and SDGs Attainment.

This handbook will present solutions inspired by the timeless Panchabhutas (Five Elements) framework, aligning environmental sustainability with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Each element will feature 9 chapters highlighting practical pathways for sustainable development, for a total of 45 chapters:

  • Prithvi (Earth): Nurturing the Earth for a sustainable future
  • Jala (Water): Clean and sustainable water use
  • Agni (Fire): Renewable energy and clean technologies
  • Vayu (Air): Breathing clean air for all
  • Akasha (Space): Sustainable frontiers and global cooperation

  • Chapter Willingness Submission: 25th July 2025
  • Full Chapter Submission: By 14th August 2025
  • Acceptance Notification: 20th August 2025
  • Final Chapter Submission: 1st September 2025

๐Ÿค Collaboration Criteria:

  • Each chapter must include:
    โœ… At least one academic author
    โœ… At least one industry contributor
    โœ… At least one international author
  • Maximum six authors per chapter

Selected contributors will:

  • Present their work at IGEN ENVIRONTHON 2025
  • Receive ISBN publication under IGEN Press
  • Be assigned a DOI for global citation
  • Receive an Author Certificate and Presenter Certificate

IGEN ENVIRONTHON 2025  โ€“ Third Edition : Starts September 12 and Ends September 13, 2025

IGEN ENVIRONTHON 2025: The third edition of this non-stop MARATHON, certified by the Limca Book of Records (LBR) and the World Book of Records London (WBR), will feature 30 continuous hours of deliberation on the Panchabhutas. The event will unite 30 partners from 30 countries, 30 states, and 30 districts, with 399 speakers contributing insights on 30 Climate Action targets aligned with the SDGs and 30 themes connected to COP30 (UN Climate Change Conference), which will take place in Brazil from 10 to 21 November 2025

The theme of IGEN ENVIRONTHON 2025 is Climate Adaptation and Financing to Sustain Harmony with the Five Elements (Panchabhutas). This theme aims to support climate change mitigation in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and will contribute actionable summit recommendations for COP30.
